Solitude
Anxiety is one of the fundamental elements of human existence, something we have all experienced. However, it raises the question: what happens when this feeling overpowers us, leaving us unable to cope with a given situation or even with ourselves? Seeking help through the medium of photography, I attempted to resolve this inner tension and confusion. In my series of six images, I depict the anxiety that nearly bursts forth from within me, using the peculiarities of the body or the strange forms created by various gestures. This anxiety surfaced as a result of isolation from the outside world. Becoming an exchange student, I had the opportunity to study abroad for six months, moving into a dormitory hundreds of kilometers away from home. It wasn't exciting—rather, it was dull, frightening, and lonely.
